Security Installations Across Marin County
Custom panic rooms, bunkers, vault rooms, and bulletproof glass for homes from Tiburon and Belvedere to Ross, Kentfield, and West Marin. Serving Marin since 1988.
Marin County's combination of remote terrain, concentrated wealth, and active natural hazards — wildfire, earthquake, flooding in coastal areas — creates a security profile distinct from anywhere else in the Bay Area. Marin residents tend to think about resilience, not just security: how does the home perform when the road is closed, when the power is out, when help is hours away?
Global Bunkers US has been working on Marin County homes since 1988. Our projects span the southern Marin estates of Tiburon, Belvedere, and Mill Valley; the wooded enclaves of Ross, Kentfield, San Anselmo, and Larkspur; the equestrian properties of Nicasio and Woodacre; and the rugged coastal homes of West Marin. Every Marin project takes the surrounding environment into account.
Why Marin County Residents Invest in Hardened Infrastructure
- Wildfire risk is a year-round consideration across Marin. Hardened structures — bunkers, reinforced safe rooms, fire-rated vaults — provide a layer of protection no other infrastructure can match during an event.
- Many Marin homes sit on roads that can be closed by mudslides, flooding, or fire activity, meaning families may need to shelter in place for extended periods. Bunkers with independent power, water, and air filtration become genuinely useful, not just theoretical.
- Marin's high-net-worth residents — venture capital partners, executives, founders, and longtime Bay Area families — often hold substantial collections that demand proper vault-grade storage.
- Coastal and waterfront properties in Tiburon, Belvedere, and Sausalito need security infrastructure that accounts for humidity, salt air, and seismic conditions different from the inland Peninsula.
Services Available in Marin County
Marin projects often blur the line between personal security and disaster preparedness. A bunker for a Mill Valley family might serve equally well during a wildfire evacuation as during any other emergency; a vault room in Ross protects against both theft and structural loss in a major earthquake.
Bunkers & Bomb Shelters
Marin's larger lot sizes — particularly in West Marin and the wooded inland communities — make underground shelter projects practical. We build bunkers with off-grid power, water purification, NBC air filtration, and extended-duration provisioning. Particularly valuable for wildfire-exposed properties.

Common in Tiburon, Belvedere, Ross, and Kentfield homes. Safe rooms in Marin are often designed with fire-resistant materials and independent air supply systems so they remain habitable during wildfire smoke events.
Learn moreVault Rooms
Marin vault rooms frequently include climate control sized for wine collections, fine art, and document storage. Many of our Marin installations integrate the vault into a wine cellar or basement library.

Wildfire and defensible space
Most of Marin sits in a designated Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone. Our installations factor in defensible space requirements, fire-resistant materials, and — for bunkers — surface vents designed to resist ember intrusion. We coordinate with local fire departments where required.
Geotechnical conditions and water tables
Marin's geology varies dramatically by neighborhood. Tiburon ridges have very different soil and water table conditions from the canyon homes of Mill Valley or the flatlands of San Rafael. Every bunker and below-grade vault project starts with a site-specific geotechnical assessment.
Permitting across multiple jurisdictions
Marin County, the County of Marin's unincorporated areas, and each of the incorporated towns (Tiburon, Belvedere, Mill Valley, Ross, Kentfield, San Anselmo, Larkspur, San Rafael, Sausalito) have their own permitting processes. We handle permit coordination as part of the project.
Access for construction equipment
Marin's hillside roads and narrow driveways can complicate excavation and material delivery. We assess access early in the design process and plan logistics accordingly — sometimes using smaller equipment, sometimes staging materials offsite and shuttling in.
